In 2016, Fuji Clutch Industry celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Our story began when the founder, a passionate racer who once took the wheel on international racing circuits, started replacing clutches for manual transmission cars.
At that time, he promoted the idea of “reviving” clutches that usually had to be replaced after just one lap, offering a more efficient and cost-effective solution that gained wide acclaim.
As Japan entered its period of rapid economic growth, our business expanded into clutch covers, brakes, and large-vehicle clutches.
Throughout this growth, we have preserved our founding identity—always thinking from the customer’s perspective.
It may sound simple, but this spirit remains the very core of Fuji Clutch Industry today.
Most of the work our company does today originally began as tasks our customers handled themselves.
By identifying their problems and finding creative ways to solve them, our company naturally took shape.
Unlike competitors focused on efficiency and fixed routes, we prioritize customer needs—delivering products immediately when ordered, ensuring what’s needed is available when it’s needed.
By taking on complex repairs as a whole, we both support our customers and accumulate valuable technical know-how.
When the only local grinding contractor withdrew, we took over their work—not for profit, but to prevent our clients from facing inconvenience.
If our partners prosper and end users are satisfied, our own success naturally follows.
In today’s auto repair industry, the focus on being “cheap” and “fast” has taken away much of the real satisfaction from the work. Mechanics have become “part replacers,” relying on machines and replacing entire assemblies instead of repairing them.
At Fuji Clutch Industry Co., Ltd., we stay true to the original spirit of maintenance—inspecting each part, repairing what can be fixed, and restoring quality at lower cost.
In the past, mechanics were true car enthusiasts who thought, created, and healed machines. We take pride in keeping that craftsmanship alive.
The word clutch carries several meanings: “to connect,” “to rescue in a pinch,” and “to grasp the heart.”
